John Wick (2014)

Hi Vivi, This movie took me by surprise, I don’t remember where I saw it, but I remember how I felt when I watched it. The script and the editing elevate this action film. “Less is more”, and “show don’t tell” are constantly present, the world building is amazing, and the story is simple. This movie is entertainment, and it became a cult film with four sequels, as at this moment, and a lot of similarly inspired movies like Atomic Blonde or Nobody....

This is the end (2013)

Hi Vivi, This dark comedy is one of the funniest and smartest dumb comedies I’ve wathed. The setting is small, and the event is biblical. The fact that they don’t explain what is happening, and if you have knowledge of the bible’s apocalypse you can just figure it out and laugh at the layers of self-humiliation to tell the story is ridiculisly funny. In Bruges (2008)

Hi Vivi, This movie is an excelent dark comedy, it touches dark human subjects in a unique way, and for me is a great example on how to use silence correctly. Life has a way of bring extra meaning to things, in this case is the trip I did with Lau to see possible places to move in, Bruges was one of the cities and we only were there for one day, and it became this beautiful place that looks like it came of a fairy tail....

Braveheart (1995)

Hi Vivi, I was living in Teia, Spain, probably 15 y/o when I saw this movie. I remember I was in the top floor on my parents bed with a swalen ancle. We had rented this movie and I wathed alone. The love story got me, is the part of the movie that I always remember. Didn’t care about the war or the mariage between the prince of England and a princess of France, the strugle of loosing your loved ones and learing what to do after is what hook me in the story....

Zombieland (2009)

Hi Vivi, I enjoy this comedy a lot. But thinking about it Tallahassee’s story now hits different. It’s a roadtrip from Texas to Los Angeles, so you may find familiar some places in the movie. The idea of setting some rules for life is great, but don’t set them in stone. Je t’aime, Papá
